The present invention relates to an algae granular composition. More specifically, the invention comprises at least one algae and at least one agrochemically acceptable excipient selected from one or more surfactants, binders or disintegrants. It relates to an algae granular composition having a weight ratio of algae to at least one surfactant, binder or disintegrant in the range 99: 1 to 1:99. Algae make up 0.1% to 90% by weight of the total composition. The composition has a particle size in the range of 0.1 micron to 60 microns. Furthermore, the present invention relates to the process of preparing an algae granular composition comprising at least one algae and at least one agrochemically acceptable excipient. The present invention further relates to methods of treating plants, seeds, crops, plant growth materials, their locations, parts or soils with algal granular compositions.
