PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lubricant for fluid hydrodynamic bearing, and a fluid hydrodynamic bearing and a spindle motor using it which has low viscosity and improved flowability by lowering molecular weight of aliphatic carboxylic acid ester, thereby which reduces energy loss due to viscous friction and power consumption of a spindle motor, and which is less apt to evaporate under high temperature environment while preventing lowering flowability although a lubricant having low molecular weight aliphatic carboxylic acid ester is usually easy to evaporate under high temperature environment.;SOLUTION: A lubricant for a fluid hydrodynamic bearing of the present invention comprises aliphatic carboxylic acid monoester, for example, represented by formula (1).
