The invention relates to a method and to a system for recycling carbon-fiber-reinforced polymers, comprising at least one, preferably two reactors, wherein a reaction process for separating carbon fibers/carbon fiber mats and polymers occurs in the reactors in such a way that a pre-heated aqueous fluid is used as a solvent, wherein the aqueous fluid is kept in the aqueous state under pressure and is injected into the reactors in the liquid state, wherein a high pressure and a high temperature above the boiling point curve of the aqueous fluid are present in the reactors, and, after the conclusion of the reaction process, the carbon fibers/carbon fiber mats cleaned from the polymers are separated from the reaction solution arising in the reaction. The system according to the invention consists of at least two reactors, each having heating and/or cooling and a heat recovery device, wherein the reactors can be loaded with carbon-fiber-reinforced polymers and have a device for injecting a liquid solvent, such that the fluidized solvent flows around the carbon-fiber-reinforced polymers after heat-up to the reaction parameters.
