PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for suppressing invasion of a deterioration factor into a cement-based molded body or a cement-based structure, and a surface protective agent for the same. SOLUTION: At least a part of the surface of a cement-based molded body or a cement-based structure is coated with a surface protective agent containing a compound represented by the compound represented by the following formula (1), and the cement-based molded body is coated. Alternatively, a method of suppressing the invasion of deterioration factors into the cement-based structure. (In the formula (1), R ¹ and R ² each independently represent a hydrogen atom or the like, and R ³ and R ⁴ each independently have a monovalent linear or branched chain having 4 to 10 carbon atoms.
