FEATURES OF INTRA BLOCK COPY PREDICTION MODE FOR VIDEO AND IMAGE CODING AND DECODING

The innovation in intra block copy ("BC") prediction mode enables more effective intra BC prediction in terms of rate distortion performance and/or computational efficiency of encoding and decoding. For example, some of the innovations provide a more efficient way to select block vector ("BV") values. Another innovation provides a more efficient way to encode/decode BV values. Another innovation focuses on a method of performing intra-loop deblocking filtering when a block has an intra BC prediction mode, or a method of performing intra BC prediction when constrained intra prediction is enabled.
