SSD FIRMWARE UPGRADING METHOD AND APPARATUS COMPATIBLE WITH RAID AND NON-RAID

Provided are an SSD firmware upgrading method and apparatus compatible with a RAID and a non-RAID. The method comprises: when there are firmware of a RAID version and firmware of a non-RAID version needing to be published, packaging the two pieces of firmware of corresponding versions together (S302); adding configuration information of a fixed length byte to the header of packaged firmware, wherein the configuration information comprises index values, offsets and file size information of the RAID firmware and the non-RAID firmware (S304); determining whether a matched firmware version is the RAID or the non-RAID version according to SSD internal information (S306); and by comparing the SSD internal information with the configuration information of the header of the firmware, selecting a matched firmware index, and reading corresponding firmware according to the offset and a file size (S308). Accordingly, the SSD firmware upgrading efficiency is improved, and the maintenance cost is reduced.
