To provide an insulated copper wire having high adhesion between a copper wire and an insulation film and capable of preventing the copper wire and the insulation film from being peeled when wound in a coil shape, and an electric coil capable of preventing the float and wrinkle of the insulation film from occurring.SOLUTION: The insulated copper wire includes a copper wire and an insulation film covering the surface of the copper wire. The insulation film includes a polymer material having an amide bond; on a peeled surface formed on the surface of the insulated copper wire by peeling the insulation film, copper atoms bonded with nitrogen atoms or carbon atoms exist more than copper atoms bonded with oxygen atoms; an oxygen containing layer including oxygen of 10 atom % or more is formed in the depth direction from the peeled surface; the thickness of the oxygen containing layer is 2 nm or more and 30 nm or less; and the electric coil is formed by winding the insulated copper wire.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
