The present invention relates to a composition for preventing or treating atopic dermatitis containing a caffeic acid ester derivative as an active ingredient and a method for synthesizing the same, wherein the synthesis method is a caffeic acid ester derivative using a Verley-Doebner modification reaction of knephenylkel condensation. p -hydroxyphenol caffeate can be synthesized more simply and efficiently, and p -hydroxyphenol caffeate synthesized by the synthesis method of the present invention remarkably exhibits IL-13 production in epithelial T cells that affect atopic dermatitis. On the other hand, as it was confirmed to increase the IL-2 production capacity of lymph node T cells, the p -hydroxyphenol caffeate may be provided as an effective atopic dermatitis treatment agent.
