The present invention relates to a composition for the prevention or treatment of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease comprising a native bodhi tree ( Elaeagnus umbellata Thunberg) fruit extract. According to the present invention, when using the native bodhi tree fruit extract as an active ingredient, it is effective to inhibit the accumulation of triglycerides by inhibiting the expression of ChREBP (Carbohydrate-responsive element-binding protein) in liver tissue. Therefore, since it has the effect of preventing, treating, or improving non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, it can be usefully used in various fields such as pharmaceutical compositions and health functional foods for preventing, treating or improving non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.
