Disclosed in the present invention is a structure for millimeter wave transition from a substrate integrated waveguide to a rectangular waveguide, comprising: a transmission plate, comprising a first dielectric substrate, and a substrate integrated waveguide transmission line and an excitation slot provided on the first dielectric substrate; and a transition plate, comprising a second dielectric substrate and an electromagnetic dipole provided on the second dielectric substrate, the electromagnetic dipole being excited by the excitation slot. The transmission line is located on the transmission plate, and the transition plate is inserted between the transmission plate and a standard rectangular waveguide, so as to achieve broadband low-loss transition from the transmission line to the waveguide. The present invention has a simple structure, does not require an additional metal structural member, and merely inserts a reusable transition plate between a radio frequency plate and a standard waveguide member, thereby solving the problems of a large loss and a narrow working frequency band of waveguide transition based on automotive radar applications.
