The present application relates to the technical field of computers. Disclosed in the present application are a hotspot compilation unit determining method and apparatus, and a server. The method comprises: according to the installation package of an application program to be optimized, obtaining the unit description information of each compilation unit of the application program to be optimized; determining, from each unit description information, target unit description information matched with the function description information of the application program to be optimized; and determining the compilation unit having the target unit description information to be a hotspot compilation unit. Therefore, the present application can determine a hotpot compilation unit in timely mode, thereby generating, in timely mode, compilation optimization information used for guiding the compilation optimization of an application program.
