Systems, methods, apparatuses, and computer program products for transport layer load awareness for disaggregated network node architectures may provide a network node (e.g., a gNB-CU-CP) that is capable of making an explicit discrimination of backhaul and fronthaul TNL load when providing a report to an external peer node (e.g., a Master gNB, a peer gNB, and/or the like) requesting load of the network node. Thus, some embodiments described herein may provide a network node (e.g., a gNB-CU-CP) that is capable of reporting the fronthaul and backhaul links (e.g., F1 and E1 interfaces, respectively) that are relevant for an external entity.
