This acoustic field generation device is provided with: a first modulation unit 10 which modulates an ultrasonic signal using a prescribed modulation method; a second modulation unit 30 which modulates an ultrasonic signal ω₀ using a modulation method different from that of the first modulation unit 10; a filter unit 20 which changes the frequency characteristics of an audible range signal s(t) used for modulation by the second modulation unit 30; a first ultrasound wave output unit 40 which outputs a first ultrasonic signal yˉ(t) that has undergone modulation by the first modulation unit 10; and a second ultrasound wave output unit 50 which outputs a second ultrasonic signal y˜(t) that has undergone modulation by the second modulation unit 30. At a control point 70 disposed outside an acoustic field 60, the filter unit 20 is set to a filter characteristic in which a first audible sound yˉ(t) reproduced from the first ultrasonic signal yˉ(t) is cancelled out by a second audible sound y˜(t) reproduced from the second ultrasonic signal y˜(t).
