The present disclosure provides methods and devices that improve prior art methods and devices for delivering atropine to the eye. In certain embodiments, the present disclosure provides a method of delivering a composition containing atropine to the eye of a subject as a microdose stream of droplets. This method generally produces (a) a microdose stream of droplets containing a composition containing atropin via a piezoelectric droplet delivery device, where the microdose stream of the droplet averages greater than 15 microns. It comprises the steps of having an emission droplet diameter; and (b) delivering a microdose stream of droplets to the subject's eye. In certain embodiments, the method treats myopia, especially progressive myopia (myopia) in adults and children, in subjects in need of treatment for myopia. Specifically, the disclosure utilizes a relatively high concentration of atropine in the solution administered, contrary to current trends, but delivers a much lower dose to the subject, thereby excess fluid. Reduces and even prevents it from being absorbed by the target tissue. Maintaining higher concentrations of atropine in the administered solution can also reduce or avoid problems with the instability of lower concentrations of solution.
