To make a production plan that is spatially efficient by accurately estimating an area occupied in a process for a product.SOLUTION: A production planning device receives received-order information about a received order of a product. On the basis of object size information including information about the size of an object to be disposed in a work area to be used for a process for the ordered product and on the basis of space limiting information including information about a work space for the object, the production planning device creates occupied area information by calculating an occupied area including an arrangement size of each object and the work space. On the basis of overlapping propriety information of the space limiting information, the production planning device determines whether work spaces in the occupied areas of the objects corresponding to the identical pieces of received-order information can overlap or not. The production planning device integrates the respective occupied areas of the objects according to the result of the determination and updates the occupied area information according to the result of the integration.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
