A system for providing a flight planning tool may include a memory device and a weather module configured to receive weather data from a third-party device usable by a flight planning module to generate a flight plan. The system may also include a hardware processor configured to execute instructions to provide an API for facilitating communication with a client device or a third-party device; receive a request from the client device indicating a user input indicative of first information related to a flight; collect second information from a third-party device based on the first information; generate a weather message based on the user input and the information from the third-party device, wherein the weather message includes information associated with the flight; provide a user interface to the client device for communicating the weather message; and display graphics indicative of the flight information included in the weather message.
