The invention relates to a coherent MIMO radar processing method processing DDMA waveforms and comprising NTX transmit channels and NRX receive channels, comprising the steps of a) generating waveforms on at most NTX emission channels, the waveforms, modulo the frequency Fr of repetition of the radar pulses, being identical from one emitter to another, except for a phase ramp specific to each emission channel; b) generation, for at least one reception channel, of a distance-Doppler representation of the echoes of the transmitted waveforms, where, for each reception channel, the echoes of a transmission channel on a plurality of boxes distance occupy at least one frequency slot in the Doppler spectrum, called the signal band, each signal band being specific to one of the transmission channels, the location of the signal bands in the Doppler spectrum being determined as a function of the ramp of phase applied to each transmission channel, the waveforms being generated so as to leave unoccupied part of the Doppler spectrum between two signal bands; c) identification of the emission path corresponding to each signal band, from the distance-Doppler representation of the echoes of the transmitted waveforms. The method according to the invention is particularly suitable for the millimeter band (W band), for automotive radar applications or else on-board radars on airplanes or drones, on fixed or mobile targets relative to the carrier.
