A gel polymer electrolyte with a core-shell structure, a preparation method therefor, and an application thereof, relating to the technical field of lithium metal batteries or lithium ion batteries. The gel polymer electrolyte with a core-shell structure is an electrolyte composed of a core layer structure (1) and a shell layer structure (2), the core layer structure (1) being an electrolyte layer with a high electrolyte absorption rate and the shell layer structure (2) being an electrolyte layer with a low electrolyte absorption rate. The present gel polymer electrolyte with a core-shell structure can mitigate the rate of release of the core layer electrolyte in the electrolyte solution, solving the problem of the poor wettability of the liquid injection interface in the late life of the battery; the preparation method is simple and conducive to industrial production.
