The present invention provides: a polyfunctional phenol resin and a polyfunctional epoxy resin, which have a low viscosity and which give cured products having excellent mechanical characteristics and heat resistance; a curable resin composition containing same; and a cured product thereof. More specifically, the present invention provides: a polyfunctional phenol resin characterized in that a naphthol structure that may have a substituent group on an aromatic ring and a catechol structure that may have a methyl group as a substituent group on an aromatic ring are bonded via a methylene group that may have a substituent group; a polyfunctional epoxy resin obtained by epoxidation of this polyfunctional phenol resin; a curable resin composition containing either of these resins; and a cured product of the composition.
