Compositions and methods for treating sexual dysfunction and enhancing sexual response and pleasure

The pharmaceutical formulation comprises at least one component that enhances sexual response and at least one other compound that enhances sexual sensitivity and pleasure. Components that enhance the sexual response increase blood flow to the genital area. Examples include compounds that dilate blood vessels, such as compounds that increase the amount of nitrogen monoxide (NO) in the blood. The sexual sensitivity and pleasure enhancing ingredients include one or more cannabinoid compounds derived from plants of the genus Cannabis, extract compounds, synthetic forms and derivatives thereof. Examples include tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), which is a major psychotropic component of cannabis, and cannabidiol (CBD), which has weak or no psychotropic properties, which modulates THC activity. The ratio of THC/CBD may be selected according to the user's age, sex, physical health and/or psychological state.
