The invention concerns a computer-based platform to display a railway infrastructure RLT. According to the invention, this platform is intended to work with both 3D data and 2D data. 3D data can be generated, for example, by means of a measuring device SEN, while 2D data can be generated, for example, as part of a route planning STP with a PLN planning tool. It is essential for the invention that both 2D data and 3D data are stored in an SE storage device and stored by PM4, PM5 program modules in the different data format, i.e. from 2D to 3D and from 3D to 2D respectively,can be transformed. It is therefore possible to display both 2D and 3D data of a planning process in a second PM2 program module, for example in an AE23 output device, or to simulate a virtual three-dimensional space with a SMP simulation tool.
