A video course recommendation method based on big data, and a related device. The video course recommendation method based on big data comprises: receiving a course request instruction sent by a user terminal; performing authority analysis on the user terminal, and determining the user terminal as a target user; obtaining a watching record of a video course matched with the course request instruction and stored in a storage server, and determining effective watching times in the watching record; and determining a popularity value of the video course according to the effective watching times, and recommending a target video course to the target user on the basis of the popularity value. The popularity value of the video course is determined by means of the effective watching times, so that the influence of the invalid watching times on the popularity value can be eliminated, and the accuracy and reliability of popularity value calculation are improved, thereby improving the accuracy of video course recommendation.
