The present invention relates to an inverter booster pump system using an automatic valve and a method for driving the inverter booster pump system, the inverter booster pump system being provided with an auxiliary pressure sensor and an automatic valve mounted therein instead of a check valve and a blocking valve which have been mounted on a discharge pipe of an inverter booster pump. In the inverter booster pump system using the automatic valve according to the present invention, a plurality of booster pumps (P1, P2, P3) are arranged in parallel between a suction header (10) and a discharge header (20), a main pressure sensor (MPS) is mounted on the discharge header (20), blocking valves (GV1, GV2, GV3) are mounted on suction pipes (31, 32, 33) which connect the suction header (10) to the booster pumps (P1, P2, P3), auxiliary pressure sensors (SPS1, SPS2, SPS3) and automatic valves (AV1, AV2, AV3) are respectively mounted on discharge pipes (41, 42, 43) which connect the discharge header (20) to the booster pumps (P1, P2, P3), and the auxiliary pressure sensors (SPS1, SPS2, SPS3) are arranged between the booster pumps (P1, P2, P3) and the automatic valves (AV1, AV2, AV3).
