The invention concerns a hybrid imaging device to depict an object to be examined in a sample volume (PV),where the hybrid imaging device can be operated in an MPI mode and in at least one other imaging mode and includes a magnetic array designed to generate a magnetic field in MPI mode with a gradient B1 and a field-free region in sample volume (PV), where the magnetic arrangement comprises a pair of magnets (R1/R2) with two magnetometers (R1, R2) in Halbach dipol configuration, arranged coaxially on a common Z axis passing through the sample volume (PV), the magnetometers (R1, R2) being rotated against each other around the Z axis. This allows both magnetic fields to be generated,which meet the requirements for both MRI and MPI, so that the hybrid imaging device can be equipped for measurements in different imaging modes, including MPI, MRI and CT.
