Disclosed in embodiments of the present invention are a method for sharing a server, a client, and a cloud platform. The method comprises: a first client sending a first subscription request to a cloud platform, the first subscription request requesting acquisition of a server sharing invitation directed to the first client; the first client receiving a first notification message of a first server sharing invitation, the first server sharing invitation being used to share a first server with the first client which is associated with the same user as a second client. The method, the client and the cloud platform provided in the embodiments of the present invention facilitate realizing a sharable server, thereby improving the experience of users using the Internet of Things.
