The present invention relates to a process for preparing an article which comprises a thin-walled metal tube, wherein at least the thin-walled metal tube is prepared by additive manufacturing using beam melting, wherein(a) a layer of a metal powder is applied on a substrate,(b) the beam scans over pre-defined areas of the applied metal powder layer tube by(b1) moving the beam along an outer wall surface scanning line SLows,(b2) moving the beam along an inner wall surface scanning line SLIWS,(b3) moving the beam along bulk scanning lines SLBulk which comprise(b3.1) one or more offset scanning lines SLOWS-offset which are offset from the outer wall surface scanning line SLows, and(b3.2) one or more offset scanning lines SLIWS-offset which are offset from the inner wall surface scanning line SLIWS.
