Handcuff (1) comprising: - a first half-bracelet (2), a first end of which forms a notched locking sector (21) acting as a rack; - a second end of the first half-bracelet (2), opposite the notched sector (21), is mounted with the ability to pivot between two flanges (31, 32) forming a second half-bracelet complementary to the first half-bracelet (2) ; - the notched sector (21) is able to cooperate with a pawl (4) mounted with the capacity to move against an elastic member, in internal arrangements of at least one of the flanges (31, 32) ; - The pawl (4) has arrangements (43) capable of being urged to be retracted in order to release it from the teeth of the notched sector (21). According to the invention, the handcuff (1) comprises an opening (9) passing through the two flanges (31, 32) and opening out at the level of the arrangements (43) of the pawl (4), so that the insertion of a key (8) on one side or the other of the opening (9) allows the pawl (4) to be retracted.
