Embodiments of a method of producing and testing a water gas stream in a self pressurized flow cell are disclosed. The aqueous gas stream comprises a mixture of aqueous salt precursors and aqueous acid precursors that are mixed inline and introduced into a self-pressurized flow cell to produce a water gas. The precursor mixture formed from the mixed aqueous salt precursor and aqueous acid precursor can react with the sample once it enters the self-pressurized flow cell. Both the reacted aqueous solution and the sample can be subjected to a variety of real-time tests such as electrochemical tests and in-line characterization techniques. These embodiments make it possible to accurately and precisely maintain the concentration of aqueous salt precursors and aqueous acid precursors while increasing safety when handling and testing the various toxic aqueous gas streams produced.
