A method for constructing an intermediate representation (IR), the method comprising: acquiring a first IR, the first IR comprising a calculation statement, and the calculation statement comprising a tensor and an operator, wherein an operation represented by the operator is executed on the basis of a calculation unit, the calculation unit is used to perform operations on data that is migrated sequentially through a first storage location and a second storage location, and the tensor is data used to execute the operation represented by the operator (201); and generating a second IR on the basis of the calculation statement, wherein the second IR comprises first data migration information and data segmentation information, the first data migration information indicates that a first migration path of the tensor comprises from the first storage location to the second storage location, and the data segmentation information indicates the size of the tensor when the tensor migrates to the second storage location (202). The described method may construct an IR that is able to represent the migration of a tensor between different storage locations.
