Embodiments for PV modules with integrated mounting systems are presented. The systems are mainly, but not exclusively, used in commercial and industrial solar systems on the roof. The disclosed self-aligning components can be easily installed in both north-south and east-west geometry scenarios, which leads to a greatly reduced complexity and installation time. The use of polymeric or fiber-reinforced polymer frames and mounting structures eliminates the need for grounding. Features are introduced that do not require tools or hardware to be installed. In addition, the structures presented support the PV laminates in strategic locations and enable the use of thinner glass, so that the overall system weight is reduced. The adhesive installation of the systems, e.g. B. on membrane roofs, no ballast stones are required, and the overall system weight is further reduced. This makes the system attractive for rooftop installations that would otherwise not be strong enough to support the installation of PV ballast modules.
