Here devices, storage media and methods are disclosed which are linked to cognitive robot systems, such as an ADAS for CAD vehicles. In some embodiments, a device includes an emotional circuit (32) for receiving stimuli (36) for a robot with the robotic system (25) integrated to process the received stimuli (36) to identify potential adversity (38) , and for outputting information describing the identified potential adversity (38); and a rational circuit (34) for receiving the information describing the identified potential adversity (38) for processing the received information describing the identified potential adversity (38) to determine respective anxiety levels (42) for the identified potential adversity ( 38) with respect to a current context (40) of the robot, and for generating commands for the robot, based on the identified potential adversity (38), at least in part, on the determined fear levels (42) for the identified potential adversity ( 38) to respond.
