Sealed axial flux motor with integral cooling

Conventional axial flux motors typically include multiple rotors and stators to make the motor larger and heavier. In addition, conventional axial flux motors include a housing to protect the rotor and stator, but the housing is often difficult to seal from the environment, and contaminants (e.g., dust, water) penetrate the motor and fail over time. Causes the risk to cause. The present invention overcomes these limitations by disclosing an axial magnetic flux motor having a single rotor and two stators. Using a single rotor reduces the size and weight of the motor. The fuselage inner housing and the fuselage outer housing mechanically support the two stators and are joined together to define an inner cavity. A ring seal is placed between the two housings to ensure that the inner cavity is sealed. In addition, the two stators are capable of operating multiple degrees of freedom (DOF), including rotation of the wheel and actuation of the suspension.
