In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station (BS), a transmission of a channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS), wherein the transmission of the CSI-RS is received at least a quantity of symbols prior to a symbol of a scheduled uplink transmission from the UE. The UE may determine an uplink transmit beam for the scheduled uplink transmission based at least in part on receiving the transmission of the CSI-RS. Numerous other aspects are provided.
