An aerosol generating device, comprising: a chamber (20), which is configured to receive a vapable material (A) and maintain a gap (30) between an outer side wall of the vapable material (A); a heating element (510), which is configured to heat the vapable material (A) that is removably received in the chamber during use; and at least one spacer (40, 50, 150, 450, 550), which at least partially extends into the gap (30), thereby preventing air in the chamber (20) from leaving the chamber (20) by means of the gap (30), or preventing the air in the gap (30) from entering the vapable material (A) by means of an end part of the vapable material (A) that is received in the chamber (20). By using the aerosol generating device, a gelatinized substance within the gap may be prevented from escaping to the outside of the device or from entering into the vapable material (A) during vaping by a user, thereby ensuring a good taste during vaping.
