Embodiments described herein relate to implementing compliance settings by a computing device to ensure that the computing device complies with a configuration scenario. For example, the computing device may receive configuration information from the server that describes the compliance settings implemented by the computing device to cause the computing device to comply with the configuration scenario. Moreover, the computing device may identify the state machine indicated by the configuration information describing the configuration process for implementing the compliance settings, execute the state machine, and configure the computing device with the compliance settings.
