PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sulfur-modified chloroprene rubber which is excellent in compression set and scorch resistance and can obtain a vulcanized product having reduced heat generation. SOLUTION: The mass ratio (B / A) of the terminal structure (A) derived from mercaptobenzimidazole and the terminal structure (B) derived from xanthogen disulfide is 0 to 6, and the total (A + B) is 0.1 to 0.6 mass. A rubber composition containing 100 parts by mass of sulfur-modified chloroprene rubber, which is a part, and 25 to 55 parts by mass of carbon black having an average particle diameter of 15 to 80 nm.
