[Problem] To provide an adapter used in a breast pump, etc., capable of coupling to a breast pump having two different types of connection port sizes, and whereby breast milk normally pumped in a single pumping that is collected in a breast milk storage bag can be retained with a stable coupling to the breast milk storage bag. [Solution] An adapter 10 provided with: a main body 14; a first connection part 11 having a first port size, the first connection part being provided to a first end of the main body and coupled to either a breast pump or a breast milk storage bag 50; a second connection part 12 having a second port size larger than the first port size, the second connection part being provided to a second end of the main body and coupled to the other of the breast pump and the breast milk storage bag; and a first retaining structure 13 for preventing a clip 30 from slipping off from the first end of the main body in the longitudinal direction of the main body, the clip 30 being positioned on an outer surface of the main body and fixing the breast milk storage bag to the adapter.
