Pottery.-Relates to the construction of a sprayproducer for paint, colour, glaze, or the like, for the use of artists, lithographers, photographers, painters, or for decorating ceramic ware and the like. The appliance is composed of the parts a, b, c, and d screwed or otherwise secured together. The receptacle b for the paint or glaze is in communication with a passage b5 which conveys the paint to the nozzle a2. A hollow spindle i with tapered end is suitably mounted, and, under the action of the spring l, closes the opening in the nozzle a2. A lever f draws the spindle i backwards to open the nozzle. The spindle i is provide 1 with an opening i2 through which enters a blast of air, the air being discharged at the tapered end. The blast of air from any suitable source enters the appliance through a valve chamber n in which is a valve kept closed by a spring and opened by the pressure of the tail of a lever f on the valve spindle. The blast partly issues from the nozzle through the spindle i, and part of it is conducted by a pipe o and issues from the nozzle around the paint-conducting tube b5. These two blasts draw the paint from the container b and disintegrate it in the form of spray when the lever f is operated by means of the thumb-plate g.
