Tables reading-desks; brackets.-Relates to a table, reading-desk, or like appliance, which can be fixed to a bedstead, chair, lounge, wall, mantel. piece, &c. for the use of invalids. The table or desk board a is pivoted in a U-shaped frame c, and can be clamped at any angle by a wing-nut and by a slotted quadrant a5 and wing-nut a2. The frame c can swivel on a plug e', to which it may be clamped by a wing-nut e6. The upright e is hinged at c2 to a rod c4, which is hinged at c3 to a rod d. The joints c2, c3 can be clamped by wing-nuts. The rod d has a slot d2, with which engages a bolt, with wing-nut f2, by which it is jointed to an upright g, having a slotted quadrant g3 fitted with a screw engaging the slot d' and provided with a wing-nut g4. The upright g can swivel and be clamped in a socket h2 on the end of an arm h, which swivels and can be clamped in a socket i2 on a plate which can be clamped to a bedstead pillar, Fig. 2, or a mantelpiece or ledge n, Fig. 4, or hook on to a pair of rails, Fig. 5, or be fixed to a wall, Fig. 6.
