5225. Molinard, T. March 12. Cleaning tubes.-Relates to means for removing incrustation from the water tubes of steam boilers, Specification No. 13,067, A.D. 1900, being referred to. Rollers B are mounted obliquely on spring arms A, which are held in the grooves I of a conical piece C by means of the cap E secured by the nut E'. The screw stem F connects the piece C to a socket S, which is secured by the flange K and nuts f to a pivot L, so as to be capable of rotating freely on the pivot. The pivot L is attached to the operating-rod H, the movement of which along the tube forces the rollers B to describe helical grooves in the incrustation. The rollers are then replaced by others mounted to form helices of a different hand, and finally springs carrying scrapers or brushes are employed. The piece U has an axial projection D, through which is a hole D' for receiving a pin to prevent rotation of the parts while they are being screwed together.
