23,024. Templeton, W. J. Dec. 17. Cramps.-The cramp is for making picture frames, window sashes, doors, &c. It consists of two triangular frames mounted on a bar e. Each frame consists of two arms a, a, united by a socket a' and adjustably fixed to a bar d by sockets c, which slide on the bar d and arms a and are fixed by pins taking into holes in the bar and arms. One of the sockets a' can be adjustably fixed by a pin f to the bar e, and the other socket a' has a lug a2 for engaging with the adjusting-screw h, which turns freely at its other end in a block h' fixed to the bar e. The sockets c may have gripping-jaws. Sockets c2 with jaws may be adjustably fixed by pins to the bars d, and sockets g may be similarly fixed to the arms a. The sockets g carry swivelling plates g2 with lugs or jaws g3 arranged at right-angles to one another.
