Feedwater, heating and purifying.-Relates to arrangements of several valves in one casing for controlling and diverting the flow of feedwater through a filter and heater, applicable also generally for diverting fluids into various channels. In Figs. 1 and 2, a shows a filter of the kind described in Specification No. 11,750, A.D. 1897, and b a feed-heater of the kind described in Specification No. 1943, A.D. 1900. By means of the two double-beat valves c' and d4, and the single-beat valve d5, all operated by screwed spindles as shown, the feedwater may be passed from the inlet c1 through the filter and heater in succession, through either separately, or taken direct to the boiler through the outlet e. The outlet from the heater to the boiler, which joins the outlet e, is provided with a non-return valve e'.
