Feedwater, heating; incrustation, preventing.-To prevent the formation of incrustation in the tubes C of condensers and water-heaters, and to keep them free from mud, rods or close tubes J, shown detached in Fig. 4, are fitted within them, so as to leave a narrow annular space for the passage of the water, and provision is made for imparting a reciprocating longitudinal movement to such rods or tubes. The Provisional Specification describes also a modified arrangement, in which the internal tubes serve for the admission of the water, their lower ends being open.
