Lathes.-A lathe attachment for turning concave or convex belt-pulley faces consists of a tool slide 3 carried by a tool-post 4, on which is mounted a short cylinder 15, rocked by a lever 18 and having a cam-groove 14 engaged by a roller stud 9 on the slide 3. A stud 20, adjustable in a slot in the lever 18, is connected by a rod 23 with a block 26 adjustable in a fixed slotted arm 28, the rod being longitudinally adjustable in the block. The parts are so adjusted that the stud 9 is at the centre of the cam-groove when the tool 2 is in the centre of the pulley face 34. The shape of the cam-groove and the position of the stud 20 determine the direction and amount of the curvature given to the face.
