Sulphur.-In a process for purifying gas or ammoniacal liquor with iron carbonate, the iron sulphide forming on the carbonate decomposes in the air, and sulphur is formed, which may be recovered by known methods when it accumulates sufficiently. Iron sulphite may be employed instead of the carbonate, when sulphur is directly formed, as described in Specification No. 9432, A.D. 1899.
