16,085. Burbidge, W. H. Aug. 10. Cranes.-Consists of an improved support for the heels of derricks, jibs, booms, gaffs, &c. The vertical pivot pin b has a spherical head c and a collar f, which are received in a correspondinglyshaped cup i of a casting j secured to the mast, wall, &c. The heel e of the boom &c. may be made to fit, and be supported by some part of, the head c so as to relieve the pin g of strain. The casting j is made of the appropriate shape to fit the mast, wall, &c. to which it is to be secured. In a modification adapted for a deck or floor, the casting j has four legs which carry the cup i centrally. The eye or shackle to which the usual lead block is secured is carried by the pin b in the slot k.
