24,648. Cotgreave, A. Dec. 4. Indicating by tickets.-Relates to indicators for publie libraries, breweries, &c. A frame a, Fig. 1, preferably glazed at the front, is divided by vertical partitions b into compartments c, which are fitted with removable metal cases or containers d, open at both ends, for receiving loose books, blocks, cards, tickets, &c. denoting particular books, barrels, &c. Each case d has a partially-open top d1, Fig. 4, a ticket &c. stop d2 at the front, and side studs or projections d4 adapted to spring into vertical grooves in the partitions b, or side grooves adapted to engage ribs or beadings on the partitions. The cases may be released by springing the sides together, or horizontal gaps may be made in the partitions at intervals to allow of withdrawal. In a modification, the vertical divisions have sloping bottoms, and the cases, which are arranged in sloping positions, consist of open-ended sheaths d. Figs. 9 and 10, cut away at parts d1, d2 on the bottom and top respectively, to expose the ends of the tickets &c., and provided with one or more side studs d4 or grooves. The cases themselves may bear indications &c. instead of, or in addition to, containing tickets &c.
