24,793. Percival, W. Dec. 5. Seats and seat backs.-Relates to spring seats and backs for railway and other carriages. In the form shown in Fig. 1, the front of each blade spring 1 is curled and rides in a grooved strip 3 secured to the front of the seat while the back of the spring is linked as shown to the back of the seat. Figs. 3 and 5 show modified means for securing the front of the spring, and Figs. 3, 4, and 6 show alternative methods for attaching its back end. The springs, when in position, are padded and covered.
