The vehicle has a raised front seat A under which is a locker containing hose, stand-pipes, and other firemen's appliances, the locker being closed by hinged flap doors. At the sides are hand-brakes D under the control of firemen standing on footboards B. The bottom E of the vehicle is left open, and leather braces G, connected to projecting irons F, are stretched across it so as to be capable of carrying a stretcher
