Instruments with sonorous plates.- The instrument is held to the mouth and a tune hummed or sung into it or near it, the vibration of the voice being taken up by a gutta-percha disc. The disc is held in a concave depression A in a celluloid block B by a ring C. The narrow part of the tube is occupied by a perforated plug D, which is held in place by a spring which regulates the vibrating disc. Various musical imitations can, it is stated, be performed with this instrument.
